We would like to say thank you to all the businesses that assisted in making Reenactor Appreciation Weekend in 2009 a success for the fourth year running. We could not have added the World War II dance featuring Gettysburg’s own The Gettysburg Big Band without your support. This brought many WWII reenactors to town in addition to the Civil War reenactors who have attended in previous years bringing our total participation to between 300 and 400 reenactors for the weekend; we hope to double this number with your assistance in 2010. We’ve already started spreading the word, and our visitors from last year are looking forward to coming back!

As we are in the planning stages of the fifth year we realize the economy continues to affect everyone. We are not untouched, our budgetary inflows have declined while our expenditures continue to remain the same or increase. In the past we have been supported by the Gettysburg Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as the State of Pennsylvania’s Department of Tourism. As we all know the state’s budget has been undecided and the result of this is a major reduction in tourism monies. If we are to continue this wonderful event for the fifth year, once again we need to reach out to our friends.

We invite you to join us by becoming a sponsor of this extraordinary event. Reenactor Appreciation Weekend is important not only because it is the first event of the year, but because it shows our appreciation for the people who help bring our nation’s extraordinary history alive with their devoted passion and commitment. This year we are bringing back the WWII Big Band Dance as well as the Civil War grand ball, the Victorian ladies tea, the gentlemen’s cigar and brandy, book signings, and seminars. We will have a printed program available with a complete list of events and sponsors for distribution at the time of the event.

Please show your support for the event with free admission or discounted rates to your venue, an open house or special event geared toward reenactors of all eras, and/or offer special pricing for lodging, dining and other novelties.

We also have space available for vendor tables at the 2-day low rate of just $50.00 for Friday and Saturday per table. That’s just $25.00 a day! And with a Weekend Friend sponsorship, you can advertise your business or orgaization on our website as well as in the event program to let people know you will be there. We also hope you will show further support for the event with additional contributions of gift certificates and/or gift cards. Random drawings for the gift certificates and gift cards will be held during the showcase events throughout the weekend.

Levels of Sponsorships

We offer the following levels of sponsorship:

Titanium Sponsorship 

($1,000.00 and up)

As a Titanium Sponsor, your organization will receive maximum exposure. It is our most prestigious level of participation. You may reserve a FREE full page ad in the event program. Your organization’s logo will appear on a welcome banner and at each main event, in our event advertisements and each event sign we display. Your logo will appear on each page of the website with an active link back to you organization’s own website, on the front page of the event program and listed inside the program with our sponsors. If you are a local business, your location will appear on the event map. You may also have up to TWO FREE tables for marketing at the Wyndham on Friday and Saturday should you care to take advantage of this marketing opportunity; additional tables are available at $50.00 each. If your business in not in the reenacting community, you will receive ten free admission tickets to one of the weekend’s main events.

Platinum Sponsorship 

($500.00-$999.00 one opportunity for each main event)

A Platinum Sponsorship holds a lot of prestige. At this level, your organization will become a sponsor of one of our main events (WWII Big Band Dance, Grand Ball, Cigars & Brandy, or the Ladies Tea). Your business may reserve a half-page ad in the event program and your name and logo will appear on a banner as the “host” of the main venue of your choice. You will be mentioned in our advertising and on the event signage we display. Your logo will appear on the Main, Event Schedule and Sponsor pages of our website with an active link back to your organization as well as in the event program. ONE FREE table for marketing at the Wyndham on Friday and Saturday is included in your Platinum Sponsorship should you care to take advantage of this marketing opportunity; additional tables are available at $50.00 each. If you are a local business, your location will appear on the event map. If your business in not in the reenacting community, you will receive ten free admission tickets to one of the weekend’s main events.

Gold Sponsorship 

($250.00-$499.00)

Share the esteem of contributing to one of our weekend events. Your business or organization will be recognized as a co-contributor to one of the six main events. Your business may reserve an quarter page ad in the event program and your name and logo will share the spotlight with another co-contributor for this venue on the event signage we display. Your logo will appear on the Sponsors and Event Schedule pages of our website with an active link back to your organization as well as in the event program. You may purchase a table for marketing at the Wyndham on Friday and Saturday for $25.00 (that’s half price) should you care to take advantage of this marketing opportunity; additional tables are available at $50.00 each. If you are a local business, your location will appear on the event map. If your business in not in the reenacting community, you will receive eight free admission tickets to one of the weekend’s main events.

Silver Sponsorship

($100.00-$249.00)

As a Silver Sponsor of our event, your business or organization may reserve an eighth page ad in our event program, and your name and logo will appear on the Sponsors page of our website with an active link back to your organization as well as in the event program. If you are a local business, your location will appear on the event map. If your business in not in the reenacting community, you will receive six free admission tickets to one of the weekend’s main events. If you wish to have a table for marketing at the Wyndham on Friday and Saturday, you may rent a table for $50.00; additional tables are available at $50.00 each.

Bronze Sponsorship 

($50.00-$99.00)

As a Bronze Sponsor for our event, your business or organization name and logo will appear on the Sponsors page of our website with an active link back to your organization as well as in the event program. If you are a local business, your location will appear on the event map. If your business or group in not in the reenacting community, you will receive four free admission tickets to one of the weekend’s main events. If you wish to have a table for marketing at the Wyndham on Friday and Saturday, you may rent a table for $50.00; additional tables are available for at $50.00 each.

Weekend Friend

($25.00 to $49.00)

Contribution as a Weekend Friend will place your business or group name on our Sponsor page of the event website, in the event program, and on the map if you are a local business. If your organization or group is part of the reenacting community, you may take advantage of a discounted table at the Wyndham for recruitment or marketing. If your business or group in not in the reenacting community, you will receive two free admission tickets to one of the weekend’s main events.
